Drei oder mehr verschiedenfarbige Kettfäden, also die längs im Webstuhl gespannten Fäden, folgen dabei in fester Reihe aufeinander und werden mit einem einfarbigen Schussfaden, der quer durch die Kette läuft, verwebt. Je nachdem, wie Kette und Schuss sich kreuzen, tritt eine Farbe hervor oder mehrere mischen sich zu einem neuen Ton, und so entstehen Dompfaffen, Kerzenflammen und Wichtelmützen im Stoff.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDie Motive mit Wichteln, Vögeln und Lucia sind aus reiner Bio-Baumwolle gewebt. Die Achtblattrose dagegen besteht aus Halbleinen, einem Gewebe aus Bio-Baumwolle und Bio-Leinen, welches die Festigkeit des Leinens mit der Weichheit der Baumwolle verbindet. Beide Qualitäten der Weberei sind GOTS-zertifiziert, und das Kürzel steht für den Global Organic Textile Standard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eTischdecken, Läufer und Tischsets mit Rose, Wichteln und Wintervögeln\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWer die Auswahl nach Farben ordnet, findet drei Stimmungen für den Festtagstisch. Rot steht für das Fest selbst, der Naturton der Fasern für Schnee und gestärktes Leinen im Wäscheschrank. Auf schwarzem Grund leuchtet jedes Ornament, als stünde eine Kerze gleich daneben.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDas Muster mit der größten Spannweite ist die Åttebladrose, die achtblättrige Rose, ein altes Muster aus dem Norden. Gewebt ist sie in Rot und im Naturton, vom Tischset über den Läufer und die Mitteldecke bis zur großen Tischdecke. Dazu kommen Geschirrtücher in zwei Größen, sodass sich ein ganzer Tisch in ein und demselben Muster decken lässt. Am Abend, wenn außer den Kerzen kein Licht mehr brennt, tritt das Muster fast plastisch hervor. Auf einem hellen Holztisch liegt ein Julnatt-Läufer dann wie ein Band aus Weihnachtsmarkt zwischen den Tellern.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDie Tomtar, die Wichtel der schwedischen Weihnacht, bevölkern Tomtemöte und Långtomtar, während Tomtebyn ein verschneites Dorf mit roten Häusern zeigt. Zwischen all dem Gewebten zeigt es, wie festlich ein Druck in Gold auf schlichter Baumwolle wirken kann.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eDie Tischgröße entscheidet zwischen Tischdecke, Mitteldecke und Läufer\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWelche weihnachtliche Tischdeko zum eigenen Tisch passt, entscheidet zuerst seine Größe, denn Tischdecke, Mitteldecke, Tischläufer und Tischset bedecken jeweils einen anderen Teil der Fläche. Die große Tischdecke misst 150 mal 150 Zentimeter, liegt über der ganzen Platte und gibt dem Festessen einen ruhigen Grund, auf welchem Teller, Gläser und Kerzen ihren Platz finden.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDie Mitteldecke von 80 mal 80 Zentimetern bedeckt die Tischmitte und lässt das Holz rundherum frei. Das passt zum Couchtisch, zum kleinen Küchentisch oder als Unterlage für den Adventskranz. Die Tischläufer sind 35 Zentimeter breit und zwischen 80 und 140 Zentimeter lang, ein breiterer Läufer von 50 mal 150 Zentimetern zieht sich über lange Tafeln.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDas Tischset im Format 35 mal 48 Zentimeter markiert den einzelnen Platz und schützt die Tischplatte vor Kratzern und Flecken. Wie die große Decke dämpft es außerdem das Klappern von Geschirr und Besteck. Eine schöne Holzplatte kommt deshalb mit Läufer und Sets zur Geltung, während die Decke den ganzen Tisch festlich einkleidet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDanach entscheidet das Muster über die Stimmung am Tisch, und ein durchgehendes Ornament wie die Achtblattrose wirkt ruhig und verträgt sich mit buntem wie mit weißem Geschirr. Ein Bildmotiv mit Wichteln, Vögeln oder Lucia erzählt dagegen eine kleine Geschichte und kommt neben schlichtem weißem Porzellan und einer roten Kerze am deutlichsten zur Geltung.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBei den Geschirrtüchern lohnt ein Blick auf das Maß, denn die kleinen Tücher um 35 mal 50 Zentimeter sind handlich für Gläser und Besteck. Die großen bis 50 mal 70 Zentimeter schaffen auch das Abtrocknen nach dem Festessen, wenn sich Bräter, Schüsseln und Dessertteller neben der Spüle stapeln. Das Haus nennt sich selbst wohl die älteste Weberei des Landes. In diesem Satz steckt ein bescheidenes „wohl“, welches gut zu einem Betrieb passt, der seine Muster lieber für sich sprechen lässt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eChrister Ekelund ist der Erfinder jenes Webverfahrens für mehrfarbige Stoffe, von dem oben die Rede war, und 1997 meldete die Weberei es zum Patent an. Die Motive entwerfen Designerinnen für das Haus, Domherre etwa stammt aus dem hauseigenen Designstudio. Heute führt Quinn Upleger das Haus, in welchem die Motive gestaltet und im Siebdruck von Hand auf Geschirrtücher gebracht werden. Die Tücher aus reiner Baumwolle werden in Indien gewebt und in Hamburg bedruckt. Weil jeder Druck ein eigener Handgriff ist, fällt jedes Tuch ein wenig anders aus.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFür diese Seite haben wir aus beiden Werkstätten Stücke ausgesucht, die zusammen einen ganzen Tisch decken, von der großen Decke über Läufer und Sets bis zum Tuch am Herd. Gewebtes und Gedrucktes vertragen sich dabei gut, denn das Gold des Hamburger Baums greift die Kerzenfarben auf, und das Rot der Achtblattrose antwortet den roten Beeren der Stechpalme.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eEin Tischläufer genügt für den Adventskaffee, die Tischdecke kommt zum Festessen\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFang mit dem Läufer an, sobald der erste Advent näher rückt, denn Tischdeko zu Weihnachten darf klein beginnen und mit den Wochen wachsen. Leg ihn längs über den Tisch oder quer vor die Plätze, direkt aufs Holz oder über eine schlichte Tischdecke. Dann stell Kerzen, ein paar Tannenzweige und einen Teller mit \u003ca href=\"\/en\/collections\/weihnachtsgebaeck\"\u003eWeihnachtsgebäck für den Adventskaffee\u003c\/a\u003e darauf. Ein kurzer Läufer liegt auch schön auf der Kommode im Flur oder auf dem Couchtisch.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFür das Frühstück an den Adventssonntagen reichen Tischsets, eines für jeden Platz. Misch ruhig die Motive, ein Set mit Wichteln neben einem mit Dompfaff und eines mit der roten Rose dazwischen. Die gemeinsame Webart hält den Tisch zusammen, auch wenn jedes Bild eine andere Geschichte erzählt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eZum Festessen am Heiligabend kommt dann die große Decke auf den Tisch, in Rot, wenn es feierlich werden soll, im Naturton, wenn Teller, Servietten und Kerzen die Farbe bringen. Darauf weißes Geschirr und etwas Tannengrün, und der Tisch ist bereit für das Menü, zu welchem du Anregungen unter \u003ca href=\"\/en\/collections\/festtagsmenue\"\u003eIdeen für das Festtagsmenü\u003c\/a\u003e findest. Wer am Vorabend Gäste hat, stellt Becher mit \u003ca href=\"\/en\/collections\/gluehwein\"\u003eGlühwein und Punsch\u003c\/a\u003e auf den Läufer.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWenn du eine abwaschbare Decke suchst, hilft ein anderer Gedanke weiter. Die Tischwäsche hier ist gewebter Stoff ohne Beschichtung und darf nach dem Fest bei bis zu 60 °C in die Maschine. Nach dem Waschen schüttelst du sie kräftig aus und hängst sie auf, einen Läufer ziehst du noch feucht in Form, dann liegt er im nächsten Advent wieder glatt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDas Geschirrtuch mit Wichteln, Vögeln oder goldenem Baum darf auch dann in der Küche hängen bleiben, wenn gerade nichts abzutrocknen ist, oder es liegt gefaltet unter der Plätzchendose. Zum Adventskaffee bei Freunden wird es zu einem Mitbringsel, das länger bleibt als die Plätzchen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eVon Lucia bis Dreikönig liegt der Tisch im Festkleid\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMitten im Advent, am dreizehnten Dezember, feiert Schweden das Luciafest. Frühmorgens zieht Lucia mit einer Lichterkrone durch das Haus, begleitet von den Tärnor, ihren Begleiterinnen mit Kerzen in der Hand. Dazu kommen die Stjärngossar, die Sternknaben mit spitzen Hüten, alle in langen weißen Gewändern und mit Lucia-Liedern auf den Lippen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDanach gibt es Kaffee und Lussekatter, Weizenbrötchen mit Safran, meist zu einem S gerollt und mit Rosinen besetzt. Der Brauch hat seine Wurzeln im achtzehnten Jahrhundert in Västergötland und wurde im zwanzigsten Jahrhundert zum Fest des ganzen Landes. Wer an diesem Morgen ein Lucia-Set unter die Kaffeetasse legt, holt sich ein wenig von diesem Licht an den eigenen Tisch.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDer Tomte, nach dem die Wichtel auf Tomtemöte und Långtomtar benannt sind, war ursprünglich ein Hofgeist. Sein Name kommt von tomt, dem Grundstück, und er wachte über Haus und Tiere. Die Illustratorin Jenny Nyström holte ihn in ihren Bildern zu Weihnachten ins Haus. Am Heiligabend, dem großen Festtag in Schweden, gehört der Tomtegröt dazu, ein Reisbrei, welcher seinen Namen trägt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSo wandert die Tischwäsche durch die Wochen, der Läufer zum ersten Advent, die Lucia-Sets zum Lichterfest, die große Decke zum Heiligabend.
