It is one of the few steep slopes in this region and is slightly elevated, south-facing on a ridge. It is precisely here, on the steepest part of the parcel, that the Riesling vines for this wine stand. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe topsoil there consists of calcareous scree, while the subsoil is pure limestone. The exposed location demands everything from the vines: on the one hand, the heat associated with sunlight, and on the other hand, the constantly cool winds that make the grapes feel as if they are in a draft.
