With this cuvée of Gropello, Marzemino, Sangiovese and a small proportion of Barbera, the Dal Cero family impressively demonstrates that the region around Lake Garda, known for its white wines, also produces excellent rosés. In the glass, it shines in a delicate salmon pink and invites the first sip. On the nose, the spicy Cà dei Frati Rosé Rosa dei Frati displays aromas of green apple, juicy cherries and fragrant hawthorn blossoms, with a hint of almond. On the palate, pickled sour cherries and red forest berries encourage further drinking, while the Cà dei Frati Rosé is fresh and juicy, silky, subtly spicy with a mineral finish. As a food companion, Cà dei Frati Rosé Rosa dei Frati harmonizes very well with white meat, fish or poultry, marinated vegetables or risotto, and it is also a wonderful aperitif.

Rosa dei Frati – Riviera del Garda Classico DOC

In Sirmione, on the southern shore of Lake Garda, the Rosé Rosa dei Frati is produced on morainic hills with calcareous and clayey, but also silty, sandy soils. The grape varieties Gropello, Marzemino, Sangiovese and Barbera grow near the lake in Desenzano. The selected parcels and the microclimate around Desenzano are particularly optimal for the indigenous Gropello grape variety, which is complemented by Marzemino, Sangiovese and Barbera.

All vineyards are no further than 20 kilometers from the winery. The grapes are harvested at their optimal ripeness and aged separately. At the winery, the grapes are selected before undergoing fermentation in stainless steel after a light maceration on the skins. Afterwards, the young wine remains on the fine lees for a full 6 months and undergoes malolactic fermentation. After blending, it rests for another two months in the bottle before being released for sale. This results in a high-quality Chiaretto from Lake Garda, a rosé charmer with an elegant interplay of acidity and fine minerality.

Cá dei Frati Rosé – a wine and its values

Origin Italy

Growing region Lombardy

Ca dei Frati

Grape varieties Gropello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, Barbera

12.5% vol Alcohol

6.05g/l Acidity

6.5g/l Residual sugar
