The wine has aromas of wild berries, raspberries, red plums, and a hint of cherry. Cantina Tramin Blauburgunder has a velvety-soft texture with fine-grained tannins. It is finely juicy and lively. This ruby-red Burgundy wonderfully accompanies hearty Tyrolean dishes, especially larger roasts and pork, and stands up to crispy roasted duck breast.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eCantina Tramin – Winemaking\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 2022 vintage began with above-average temperatures in spring, which favored early budding. The continued warm temperatures in May led to rapid flowering. Thanks to targeted vineyard work and occasional rain, the vines were kept stress-free despite summer phases of extreme heat. The grape harvest began almost two weeks earlier than usual. Because the weather cooperated perfectly, grapes of outstanding quality could be harvested throughout the entire harvest season. The red wines of the 2022 vintage are impressive; they benefit from a high degree of ripeness and develop complex fruit and full flavor with robust aromas. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Blauburgunder vines for this red wine from South Tyrol grow on calcareous and gravelly clay soils on hillsides between 350 to 450 m above sea level. The grapes were harvested at their respective optimal physiological ripeness and transported in small containers to the winery building, where they were destemmed before the mash fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature (26°C). The mash was submerged and circulated daily to enhance the varietal-typical flavor notes. Aging and maturation took place partly in large oak barrels, partly in barriques, and to a lesser extent in stainless steel tanks for at least 6 months.
