These vineyards are characterized by the region's typical fossil-rich limestone and sandy limestone, as well as mica schist. On the nose, it offers a multi-layered fruitiness of red currants, ripe cherries, and tart blueberries, meeting peaty autumn leaves, fresh truffles, and roasted root vegetables. On the palate, in addition to the complexity of its aromas, it shows taut acidity, fine-grained tannins, and a wonderfully lean, stony length with a chalky origin.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eGernot Heinrich – Winemaking\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Blaufränkisch grapes, hand-picked in early October, come from vineyards biodynamically farmed with great care and attention by Heike and Gernot Heinrich. After harvesting, the grapes remain on the skins for three weeks in wooden fermentation vats, spontaneously fermented, and then gently pressed with a basket press. The Blaufränkisch Leithaberg matured for 20 months in used 500-liter oak barrels before being bottled in mid-August 2016.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom 2014, a completely underestimated vintage that was prejudged!
