Like Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir), Frühburgunder belongs to the Burgundy family and is one of the oldest cultivated grape varieties, which can be harvested approximately two weeks earlier than Pinot Noir. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe Frühburgunder from Weingut J. Neus impresses with its elegant dark spiciness and fruity aromas of midnight-black blackberries, tart cassis, and roasted notes of coffee. On the palate, fine cherry and raspberry notes complete the red-fruited impression. A delicate and juicy wine with appealing spice and present tannins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eJ. Neus – Winemaking\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Burgundy grapes for this Frühburgunder grow on loamy soils with shell limestone subsoil. The vineyards are cultivated close to nature and are in conversion to organic viticulture. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand at optimal ripeness and then selected again at the winery to ensure the best, healthy grape material as the basis for this red wine, with operations manager Lewis Schmitt and winemaker Toni Frank working hand in hand. Traditional mash fermentation takes place spontaneously in wooden fermentation vessels. The wine is aged for at least 12 months in 600l half-barrels made of German oak. All red wines from J. Neus are drawn unfiltered from the barrel.
