Alcohol-free and sparkling, pleasantly dry, yet wonderfully fruity, served chilled it is a good alternative to sparkling wine as an aperitif or wine as a food companion.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003ePrisecco Cuvée No. 12 – Pinot Meunier and Currant Twigs\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe base for this Cuvée is the juice from blue grapes of the Pinot Meunier and Dornfelder varieties and unripe apples, rounded off with chopped black currant twigs, Douglas fir tips and selected spices. The Pinot Meunier grapes are macerated together with chopped currant wood in the press and then gently pressed. This results in a rather grapey, brilliant ruby red Prisecco, fruity with fragrant notes of red currants and blue grapes, accompanied by citrus notes and ending in a slightly tart finish. Prisecco Cuvée No. 12 pairs well with wild fowl, roasted veal with spicy sauce, fruit-forward appetizers in combination with dark meat (e.g., medium-rare roasted duck breast).\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease note that the PriSecco Cuvée No. 12 will only be available for a limited time, as, like all Prisecco Cuvées, it is only bottled once a year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eAlcohol-Free – from Manufaktur Jörg Geiger\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe PriSecco is the best-selling specialty of Manufaktur Jörg Geiger. Sophisticated and balanced, all Prisecco varieties surprise with enormous complexity. The absence of alcohol is not perceived as a deficiency, quite the opposite. PriSecco fills a gap for new, modernly designed alcohol-free beverages based on old fruit varieties. The old apple and perry pear varieties come from the landscape-defining traditional orchards along the bird sanctuary at the foot of the Swabian Alb – hand-picked, ripened, and gently processed in Jörg Geiger's manufactory, who has received several awards (including from Slow Food) for his juices. Due to their pronounced aroma, with the unique acidity of old apple varieties and the emphasized tannin note of the pear, these juices form a very special, natural basis for the Geiger Prisecco varieties.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have known the owner of Manufaktur Geiger, Jörg Geiger, personally for many years. The Prisecco manufactory is located in Schlat near Göppingen, where I myself lived for several years. Jörg Geiger started making fruit-based non-alcoholic cocktails more as a hobby. In the meantime, he has acquired a great deal of knowledge about the preparation of this non-alcoholic specialty, about old fruit varieties, and the use of herbs. In addition to top gastronomy, where his Prisecco is gladly served as an alcohol-free aperitif and as a food companion, more and more people are enjoying their favorite Prisecco at home.
