Here, Luca and Paolo Pasini once again showed what Lugana is capable of and how well this white wine can mature: on the nose elderflower, candied orange peel, a lush herbaceousness; on the palate, the Lugana Riserva is firm and juicy, aromatic and elegant at the same time. Even today, Italy's largest inland lake remains undoubtedly the most popular holiday region in northern Italy. This is where the popular Lugana white wine, which immediately puts you in a holiday mood, comes from. Since 1967, Lugana wine has carried the DOC (Denominazione di origine controllata) predicate as a controlled designation of origin. On around 700 hectares of vineyards, which the DOC area on the southern shore of Lake Garda encompasses, grow the grapes also known as Verdicchio Bianco: Turbiana and Trebbiona di Garda. From these, a straw-yellow to greenish white wine is produced, which owes its freshness to the microclimate shaped by the large lake, with mild temperatures and fresh winds.
