In the cool spring, vegetation awakened only slowly. Fortunately, this meant that the frost at the beginning of April did not damage the vines, as they had not yet budded. The summer of 2021 was also rather cool, which involved a lot of work in creating an airy canopy. But this investment in the quality of the grapes paid off. After a beautiful late summer, the harvest began in good weather on October 11th and yielded healthy grapes, so that both Grosses Gewächse and noble sweet wines from great sites could be vinified.
