Güde Knives - the Solingen Knife Manufacturer
In the Güde manufactory in Solingen, knives of the highest quality are produced. Founded in 1910 by Karl Güde, the Solingen knife manufacturer is still run by the Güde family in its fourth generation today. With extensive experience and craftsmanship, Güde knives are forged from a single piece of steel, hand-ground, and fitted with the handles so typical of Güde. Precision that delights not only knife enthusiasts and amateur cooks, but also professionals in the kitchen. The Güde manufactory offers the right knife for every purpose.
Güde Knives - the Alpha Series
We have chosen the knives from the Alpha series because they are perfect for professional and amateur cooks and offer a wide variety of models. Whether you prefer the finely polished handles made of robust and easy-care Hostaform, which are even dishwasher-safe, or a wooden handle made of barrel oak or olive, you can discover your favorite knife here.
In any case, the knives of the Alpha series are forged from a single piece of chrome-molybdenum-vanadium blade steel. In the so-called drop forging process, the entire blank is heated and deformed until, in up to 55 further steps, a handcrafted Güde manufactory knife is made from a forged blank. An unmistakable feature of the drop forging process is the so-called double bolster, the thickening of the blade steel. The front bolster protects the fingers and provides balance. The thickening at the end of the handle also ensures balanced ergonomics. Because a good Güde knife must not only be and remain sharp, but also be balanced and lie well in the hand so that you can work with it for a long time without fatigue.
