NORK – Grain spirit and liqueur from Bremen
The young brand NORK stands for grain spirit and liqueur from Bremen. Since 2016, three friends from Bremen and Hamburg have been pursuing their idea of making German grain spirit respectable again. Initially, they worked with the North German distillery Hanschen Harm in Scheeßel, but in 2019 they were proud to announce that they had won over the fine grain distillery Sasse, arguably the best grain distillery in the world from Münsterland, for the NORK project.
NORK – on a big mission
Ann-Katrin, Johann, and Lars have often enjoyed the great nightlife in Hamburg or Bremen together, danced through the nights, and made bartenders work up a sweat. Grain spirit rarely ended up in their glasses, because although this traditional North German spirit truly has a lot to offer in terms of taste, there was this image problem of cheap booze. So the three made GRAIN their big mission: they wanted to rescue the misunderstood spirit from its dingy corner and bring it into their favorite bars. Their grain spirit was to be a clear, honest double grain spirit, mild, round, and truly flavorful with malty sweetness. And NORK succeeded in this. The previously old-fashioned distillate was given a modern, clear Nordic design, packaged in a simple elegant bottle, with an elaborately embossed label and a high-quality wooden cap. You've certainly never seen grain spirit like this before. For this overall package, NORK was awarded the German Design Award 2018. After all, the eye drinks along! In addition to clear grain spirit, Nork also offers exciting grain-based liqueurs, such as lemon ginger or egg liqueur.
