D.Barbero, Torroneria and Cioccolateria from Asti
D.Barbero is a torrone and chocolate factory from Asti in Piedmont, founded in 1883 by Melchiorre Barbero. The company crafts torrone in beechwood molds, gianduiotti from Tonda Gentile hazelnuts, and panettone made with its own sourdough. Today, it is run by Giovanni Barbero and Davide Maddaleno.
D.Barbero is one of the oldest operating torronerie in Italy, and has been based at Via Brofferio 84 in Asti, in the heart of Piedmont, since 1953. Two crafts are practiced under one roof at the factory: white torrone, cooked for seven hours in copper steam kettles, and gianduiotti made from Langhe hazelnuts. The company operates as D. Barbero S.r.l., and is also known as Davide Barbero.
