Majani Chocolate
Majani from Bologna is considered Italy's first chocolate factory: opened in 1796 as the "Laboratorio delle Cose Dolci," the family is now running the company in its ninth generation. It was here in 1832 that the Scorza, Italy's first solid chocolate, was created, followed by the four-layered Cremino Fiat in 1911. To this day, Majani roasts and processes its cocoa starting from the raw bean – a rarity among companies of this size.
