Pasini San Giovanni – Lugana from Lake Garda
The Pasini San Giovanni winery, founded in 1958 by Andrea Pasini, is located in the heart of the Valtènesi wine region and is now run by the third generation of cousins Luca and Paolo Pasini. Luca's sister Sara also works at the family winery, which is situated on the western shore of Lake Garda. The 36 hectares of vineyards, planted with indigenous grape varieties such as Turbiana, Reis, Groppello, and Marzemino, are organically farmed, and the winery has been organically certified since the 2014 vintage. In 2002, a new, modern winery was built in the small village of Raffa, powered by a photovoltaic system with CO2-neutral energy, as sustainability and environmental awareness are highly valued by the Pasinis. In addition to the classic Lugana, a Rosé Chiraretto, the RosaGreen, a light red made from 100% Groppello, and a more full-bodied Cuvée of Groppello, Marzemino, Barbera, and Sangiovese, a white sparkling wine, the Centopercento, is produced from the indigenous red Groppello grape using traditional bottle fermentation.
