D.Barbero's Torrone al Rum e cioccolato is a bar with a layer of crumbly white nougat with whole hazelnuts from Piedmont and a creamy rum ganache with raisins, coated in dark chocolate.

What makes Torrone al Rum e cioccolato special is the unique interplay of aromas and textures: crunchy, bitter chocolate, crispy-crumbly hazelnut nougat, soft cream with rum and raisins. With this surprising combination of artisan torrone with sunflower honey and Piedmontese hazelnuts, aromatic rum cream, and a dark chocolate coating, Davide Barbero has created a truly magnificent recipe. Simply irresistible!

Torrone al Rum – a specialty from Piedmont

Founded in Asti in 1883, Torroneria D. Barbero has always been known for its incomparable torrone and chocolate specialties from Piedmont. Over its five-generation history, the specialties of this house have repeatedly been honored with medals and other awards. Their Gianduiotti are a typical Piedmontese specialty, clearly distinguishing themselves from many competitors due to their high hazelnut and cocoa content and the omission of artificial vanilla flavorings.

D.Barbero relies on traditional, ancient recipes that are still crafted by hand, just as they were when the company began. For both the white nougat (Torrone) and the hazelnut nougat (Gianduiotti), D. Barbero places great importance on the high quality of the nuts. That is why the traditional company only uses hazelnuts of the Tonda Gentile delle Langhe variety. This variety grows in the hilly landscape of the Langhe and has adapted to the harsh climate there. It is considered the best hazelnut in the world due to its particularly intense aroma, unique taste, crunchy bite, beautiful round shape, and impressive size.

These whole, mildly roasted hazelnuts were spread with a fine rum cream and coated with highly aromatic chocolate for the Torrone al Rum e cioccolato. Enjoy this D.Barbero specialty from northern Italian Piedmont.
