The Anette Closheim Sauvignon Blanc 2023, which Anette affectionately calls savvy, is a drinkable, expressively fragrant white wine from the Nahe region. Its mineral notes, originating from the loess-loam soils, and its coolness, resulting from the early harvest time, combine with green notes of gooseberry and kiwi, as well as fragrant elderflower notes. The Anette Closheim Sauvignon Blanc savvy is a crisp white wine that perfectly complements fish dishes, but is also simply enjoyable when drunk on its own.

Anette Closheim – Sauvignon Blanc from the Nahe region

The savvy Sauvignon Blanc quickly became the star of the Anette Closheim collection: those who try it fall under the spell of its aromas of gooseberry, cassis, grapefruit, and elderflower. The grape variety is a small diva, as it places high demands on soil and location, but like every diva, Sauvignon Blanc is rare. Although it was once native to Germany over a hundred years ago, it took quite a long time after its prohibition in the 1930s before it was allowed to celebrate a glorious comeback. It is still quite rare to find in the Nahe region. Therefore, it is an event in every respect to enjoy this unique wine.

The temperature-controlled fermentation of the highly ripe Sauvignon Blanc grapes takes place in stainless steel after 8 hours of maceration, after which the young wine is reductively processed, i.e., protected from oxidation. This preserves the fresh fruitiness and brings out an intense aroma of the grape variety.

With its delicate mineral aromas, the Anette Closheim Sauvignon Blanc savvy crowns light dishes such as prawns with ginger or goat cheese with leaf salads.
