The Cà dei Frati Rosé Rosa dei Frati 2022 is a fresh yet elegant rosé wine from Lake Garda. With this cuvée of Gropello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, and a small proportion of Barbera, the Dal Cero family impressively demonstrates that excellent rosés also come from the region around Lake Garda, which is known for its white wines. In the glass, it shines with a delicate salmon pink and entices the first sip. On the nose, the spicy Cà dei Frati Rosé Rosa dei Frati reveals aromas of green apple, juicy cherries, and fragrant hawthorn blossoms, with a hint of almond. On the palate, pickled sour cherries and red wild berries stimulate the flow of drinking, while the Cà dei Frati Rosé is fresh and juicy, silky, finely spiced with a mineral finish. As a food pairing, the Cà dei Frati Rosé Rosa dei Frati harmonizes very well with white meat, fish or poultry, marinated vegetables, or risotto; it is also a wonderful aperitif.

Rosa dei Frati – Riviera del Garda Classico DOC

In Sirmione, on the southern shore of Lake Garda, the Rosé Rosa dei Frati is produced on moraine hills with calcareous and clayey, but also silty, sandy soils. The Gropello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera grape varieties grow near the lake at Desenzano. The selected plots and the microclimate around Desenzano are ideal for the indigenous Gropello grape variety, which is complemented by Marzemono, Sangiovese, and Barbera.

All vineyards are no further than 20 kilometers from the winery. The grapes are harvested at their optimal ripeness and vinified separately. At the winery, the grapes are selected before they ferment in stainless steel after a light maceration on the skins. Afterward, the young wine remains on the fine lees for a full 6 months and undergoes malolactic fermentation. After blending, it rests for another two months in the bottle before being released for sale. This creates a high-quality Chiaretto from Lake Garda, a rosé charmer with an elegant interplay of acidity and fine minerality.
