Z 2019 Red Wine Cuvée by Oliver Zeter

The Oliver Zeter Z 2019 is a red wine cuvée with an international character made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The Z Cuvée impresses with a great balance of berry fruit and red pepper spice. On the palate, it is ripe, dense and full of power, yet velvety soft. Oliver Zeter says about his Cuvée Z: "it shows intense aromas of ripe wild cranberries, blackberries to pickled plums, cassis macarons and noisette. The noble mouthfeel is full-bodied and has a precisely structured tannin and acidity."

Winemaking – Oliver Zeter

The grapes for Oliver Zeter's Z red wine come from the best sites in the Mittelhaardt. The stony and quickly warming soils provide ideal conditions for growing Cabernet & Co. The low yield, coupled with the excellent climatic conditions of the vintage, form the necessary basis for creating a red wine with an international character. The red grape varieties are harvested late, but at the optimal harvest time by hand and brought in 20-kilo baskets to the winery where the crushed grapes ferment for two weeks on the mash. After gentle pressing, the young wine matures for 12 months in French oak barriques. During this time, it undergoes malolactic fermentation. After blending and bottling (without filtration), the Oliver Zeter Z rests for at least another 12 months in the bottle.
