Light Free Run Rosé made from Pinot Meunier by Oliver Zeter

The Free Run Rosé from Oliver Zeter is the first juice to run off spontaneously from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes, crafted into a light rosé wine. Its color is intensely radiant because the grapes were able to ripen ideally during a long growing season.

Free Run Rosé 2025 is a dry, juicy rosé from the Palatinate region that matures primarily in stainless steel tanks at Oliver Zeter. With its light 11.5% ABV, it will effortlessly accompany you from the afternoon well into the late evening.

Young red berries and bright blossoms

In the bouquet, the Free Run Rosé reveals intense notes of young red berries, layered with elegant floral aromas that give it a fragrant and lively character. If you hold your nose deeper into the glass, you can sense how fresh this fruit truly is. Its vibrant color announces this freshness the moment it is poured.

On the palate, a very juicy, finely structured body follows, maintaining a light and agile freshness. Alongside the main variety, the cuvée contains Pinot Meunier, a grape variety also known as Schwarzriesling in Germany. With its delicate fruit, it is an uncomplicated wine for warm days.

When the first juice flows on its own

The vineyards for this rosé have compact soils and good water supply, which is exactly what the late-ripening red varieties from Oliver Zeter need. The grapes are usually meticulously harvested by hand, and in the 2025 vintage, they consist of three-quarters Pinot Noir. The rather long growing season gave them time to ripen perfectly, which is the source of the intense color.

In the press, the first delicate juice runs off separately before any pressure is applied to the berries. This classic technique is called "saignée" in France and has given the wine its name. It is this very delicate juice that creates the rosé you later find in your glass.

The majority subsequently matures in stainless steel tanks, with only a small portion resting in used tonneaus. This wood provides the wine with a fine frame while still allowing the young fruit to take center stage.

Shrimp, tomato salad, and a long summer evening

Grilled shrimp with garlic, a tomato salad with basil, or a thin pizza with arugula find a light, cheerful companion in this wine. Its freshness balances the acidity of the tomatoes, and the red berry fruit pairs beautifully with herbs and good olive oil. A couscous salad with mint and pomegranate also finds a suitable counterpart in its freshness.

Served chilled at about eight degrees, it remains lively even if the evening on the balcony lasts a while. Because it is closed with a screw cap, you can simply place the bottle back in the fridge between glasses. For larger summer parties, we also offer it in a six-bottle pack.
