Ekelund Dish Towels | Decorative and Functional
The traditional weaving mill Ekelund Sweden not only offers a lively program of dish towels or kitchen towels in many designs, but often also matching table runners, small doilies, placemats, napkins, or large tablecloths in the same pattern. This way, you can wrap an entire room in your favorite pattern. The dish towels therefore not only serve a function when drying dishes, glasses, or your hands, but also spread good cheer because they are so pretty and perfectly match your taste. This makes housework much more enjoyable.
Dish towel — Kitchen towel — Drying towel
Ekelund dish towels or hand towels are very easy to care for, as they can be washed in the washing machine at up to 60 degrees. However, you should not use fabric softener, as this affects their absorbency, and especially the pure cotton towels are easy to iron. There are two different weaving variations for the cotton towels: the classic kitchen towels made of thin, finely woven yarn, which are wonderfully suited for drying, and the slightly thicker towels woven using the Rainbow method with 6 different colors, which we tend to use as kitchen hand towels. These are particularly soft and absorbent.
Cotton Kitchen Towel — Half-Linen Drying Towel
But there are also dish towels made of half-linen, meaning with a flax content. Flax is very smooth and sheds less lint than pure cotton towels. However, linen is more expensive and harder to smooth out. Therefore, half-linen drying towels are particularly suitable for drying glasses.
We recommend ironing dish towels with a linen content when they are still slightly damp and not completely dry, as this makes them easier to smooth. As you can see, Ekelund dish towels are absolutely suitable for everyday use.
PS: You can also use Ekelund dish towels as small throws on your table or sideboard and decorate them with an orchid, for example.
Ekelund — Master Weaver Organic Certified
Ekelund home textiles combine modern Nordic design with traditional weaving artistry from Sweden. Ekelund textiles have been produced exclusively in their own factory in Horred, Sweden, since 1692. All patterns are woven using a patented, innovative method. Some motifs are elaborately woven with multiple threads according to the Rainbow principle, so that the pattern appears in different colors on the reverse side than on the front. Ekelund fabrics consist of 100% organically certified cotton and linen. All materials comply with the requirements of GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), the world's leading standard for environmentally certified textiles made from controlled organic fibers.
