In 2000, Gernot Heinrich was voted Winemaker of the Year. The organic-certified Gernot Heinrich Winery is located in Gols in the Austrian Burgenland on the eastern side of Lake Neusiedl. Around 100 hectares of vineyards are cultivated predominantly biodynamically.

Their red wines Salzberg, Alter Berg, and Gabarinza impressively demonstrate the essence of their location, the typicality of their sites, and their microclimate. The natural wines of the Freyheit line, such as Roter Traminer Freyheit or Graue Freyheit, open up new taste worlds with their vibrant, textured structure.
