MonRose Grand Cuvée Sekt Extra Brut by Raumland
The Raumland MonRose Grande Cuvée Extra Brut 2011 in the 1er wooden box is a moment of sparkling wine from Sekt Pabst Volker Raumland and a great tribute to his wife Heide-Rose.
The MonRose is a grand vintage sparkling wine, only cuvéed in special years, and stands individually for the characteristics and qualitative peak of its 2011 vintage, while also demonstrating the great passion, craftsmanship, and uncompromising nature of the sparkling wine manufactory from Flörsheim-Dalsheim. Three grape varieties (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier) complement each other almost perfectly in aroma, structure, and acidity, resulting in a complex yet harmonious sparkling wine. Packaged in a beautiful Raumland wooden box, the MonRose makes a high-quality gift.
Volker Raumland describes his sparkling wine as follows: "On the nose, this Grande Cuvée shows fresh brioche, cedarwood, aromas of juicy oranges, and white flowers. On the palate, notes of apricot and red currant present themselves in a powerful and long-lasting way. Due to the partial base wine aging in oak barrels, the sparkling wine shows spicy notes that give it structure. The mousse is fine and underlines the elegance of the sparkling wine. My whole heart and soul flows into this cuvée." What a beautiful declaration of love to his wife.
Raumland – Sparkling Wine Production
The 2011 sparkling wine year was characterized by early budding in April and early summer temperatures from April to June with no significant rainfall. The mild, humid summer delayed the ripening of the grapes, but the incomparable Indian summer, with plenty of sun and little rain, brought about an almost perfect harvest with excellent qualities.
The Raumland MonRose Grand Cuvée is a complex sparkling wine with the finest perlage, a cuvée of Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes, i.e., the classic Champagne cuvée. It delights with elegance and harmony, is full-bodied and powerful with good structure, firm acidity, and great length. MonRose is characterized by calcareous marl soils, wonderfully reflects the chalky minerality, and possesses tremendous depth. The tirage bottling on June 12, 2012, initiated the second fermentation as traditional bottle fermentation. The Raumland family gave this vintage sparkling wine 133 months of time and disgorged it on July 31, 2023. Take your time and leisure for this special pleasure.
Hand-picking of perfect grapes, whole cluster pressing, spontaneous fermentation of the base wine, 46% aging in stainless steel, 54% aging in barrique, malolactic fermentation, traditional bottle fermentation, and 133 months of yeast aging in the sparkling wine cellar characterize the MonRose 2011, which is marked by longevity and great elegance.
