Raumland XIV Triumvirat Grand Cuvée - The Sparkling Wine Masterpiece
The Raumland XIV Triumvirat Grande Cuvée Brut 2014 is a sparkling wine masterpiece by Volker and Marie Luise Raumland that, like no other, demonstrates the great passion, craftsmanship, and uncompromising nature of the sparkling wine manufactory from Flörsheim-Dalsheim. The Triumvirat is a grand vintage sparkling wine that individually represents the unique characteristics and qualitative peak of its 2014 vintage.
2014 was characterized by fluctuating weather, mild temperatures at the beginning of the year, early budding in April, a frost-free May, early flowering at the beginning of June, a hot summer during the World Cup, followed by a rather cool and wet summer, which necessitated a turbulent but excellent quality harvest. A combination of careful teamwork in the vineyard, the power of old vines, the advantageous weather in the southern Wonnegau, and a touch of luck allows us to summarize: the Raumland family is incredibly proud of the result of the 2014 vintage. For good reason, they waited over 8 years to present these sparkling wines at their peak. Upon tasting, it becomes clear: these sparkling wines will be able to mature for many more years.
Thanks to cool nights, which ensured good acidity, the grapes were able to enjoy the last rays of sunshine and were harvested by hand between early and late September 2014. Like its predecessors, the XIV Triumvirat is a cuvée of Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes, making it the classic Champagne cuvée.
The Raumland XIV Triumvirat is a complex sparkling wine with the finest perlage, harmonious and elegant, full-bodied and powerful with good structure, crisp acidity, and great length. It has aromas of green apple and candied apricot, with subtle notes of brioche, hazelnut butter, and toasted almonds. It is shaped by the calcareous soils of Dalsheimer Bürgel, beautifully reflecting the chalky minerality and possessing tremendous depth. The tirage bottling in June 2015 initiated the second fermentation as a traditional bottle fermentation. The Raumland family gave this vintage sparkling wine 100 months of time and disgorged it in February 2023. Take your time and leisure for this special pleasure.
Hand harvesting of perfect grapes from the "VDP. Grosse Lage", whole cluster pressing, spontaneous fermentation of the base wine, 68% aging in stainless steel, 32% aging in barriques, malolactic fermentation, traditional bottle fermentation, and 100 months of lees aging in the sparkling wine cellar characterize the XIV Triumvirat, which is marked by longevity and great freshness.

This has never happened before! For the seventh time, Meininger's German Sparkling Wine Award honored the best German sparkling wines from traditional bottle fermentation. The Raumland family is incredibly proud and delighted to have taken not only first place, but also second and third place in the premier class of Prestige Burgundy sparkling wines this year.
"Thus, the Raumland family achieves a feat that no other sparkling wine producer has ever achieved at Meininger's German Sparkling Wine Award." [Quote Nikos Weinwelten]
