Discover Raumland Sekt: XI Triumvirat Grand Cuvée 2015
The Raumland XV Triumvirat Grande Cuvée Brut 2015 is like a classic Champagne Cuvée made from Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay grapes. This very special vintage sparkling wine by Volker Raumland seduces with hints of nut butter, freshly baked bread, and stone fruit. On the palate, it is powerful and harmonious with the finest effervescence.
The Raumland Prestige Sekts, which include the Triumvirat, are characterized by their long lees aging of over 100 months. During this time, unmistakable aromas of brioche, nut butter, and roasted almonds develop. The result is a fine-bubbled mousseux with a profound body and a long finish.
The Triumvirat is a very complex sparkling wine, full-bodied and impactful with good structure, light-footed with lively acidity and great length. It smells of apple and pear and ripe honeydew melon, shows intense notes of brioche, nuts, and almonds, something slightly smoky from wet stone, and possesses magnificent depth.

Sekthaus Raumland – on par with Champagne
The Sekthaus Raumland from Flörsheim Dalsheim in Rheinhessen produces premium German Sekt that can stand up to international comparison. Volker Raumland produces Sekt using traditional bottle fermentation, exclusively from his own hand-picked grapes, with a focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, from organically cultivated vineyards. The Pinot Noir grapes for this traditional Sekt grow on nearly 30-year-old vines in the Dalsheimer Bürgel vineyard on chalky shell limestone soils.
The 2015 Sekt year started with a mild spring, followed by a dry, hot summer. To maintain the finesse of the vintage, little defoliation was done. The autumn brought the long-awaited rain and falling temperatures in September. This led to stable acidity levels in the grapes, perfect for Sekt. The picture-perfect grape harvest with an early pick resulted in more powerful and spicier Sekts compared to the previous year.
The grapes, hand-picked in September 2015, were gently pressed as whole clusters. The base wines were aged 58% in barriques and 42% in stainless steel. The malolactic fermentation brings a fine creaminess to the Sekt. The second fermentation in the bottle, tirage bottling in May 2016, and long lees aging are prerequisites for this quality, a complex aromatic spectrum, and the special fine effervescence.
