Castelbel – Verbena Soap – from Portugal

The Castelbel Verbena soap from Portugal smells as wonderful as the fresh, green scent from the leaves of verbena, with accents of lemon and a subtle woody base, the fresh scent invigorates the senses. The intensity of the Verbena ambient series scent is such that it does not seem overpowering, but is perceived as very pleasant. The oval, lime-green soap bar fits wonderfully in the hand.

Verbena Soap by Castelbel – Craftsmanship from Portugal

The production of natural soaps in Portugal has a 300-year-old tradition, which began at Castelbel in 1999 when Aquiles Barros, a respected professor of chemistry and former employee of the Ach Brito soap factory, decided to create something new and his own.

Not far from the port city of Porto in northern Portugal lies the small village of Castêlo da Maia, which was not only the company's headquarters but also its namesake: Castelbel – beautiful castle.

Initially, Castelbel produced private labels for a New York department store, later for Galeries Lafayette in Paris. The name Castelbel remained hidden. Since 2006, the Castelbel Ambiente series (Lavender, Rose, Verbena) has been available, and the success story began. A major contribution to this has been the wonderful room fragrances in beautiful glass diffusers, which are exported from Portugal all over the world. A year later, the exclusive Portus Cale series followed, which with its unique Portuguese product design has found its admirers not only with us but also in Dubai, South Africa, and Japan, and delights museum visitors in the washrooms of the Louvre in Paris.
