Eva Solo Reflect 33 L is the largest waste sorting bin in the Reflect series, featuring a full standing height and a single compartment. Not a pedal bin, not a double bin, and not a solution meant to disappear under a standard countertop.
Eva Solo Reflect 33 L is the largest version in the Reflect series and is designed for the household waste of a family of several people – or for the weekly amount of paper in an open-plan kitchen. The bin stands freely in the room: 52 cm high, 38 cm wide, 26 cm deep. Narrow enough for a niche next to the refrigerator, tall enough not to disappear into a cupboard. For 2 bags.
Material and size for primary waste
The black plastic body has a significant weight of 2.43 kg – it remains stable even when empty, even when the lid swings wide open during filling. With a volume of 33 liters, the bin holds about three standard 30-liter bags; this is typically enough for a four-person household for three to four days of residual waste or for a whole week of packaging waste. Anyone wanting to place the bin inside a base cabinet will need an internal height of at least 55 cm – many standard sink base cabinets reach their limits here.
How the 33-liter remains useful in everyday life
As a main collector for residual waste against a quiet wall next to the kitchen unit. As a central packaging bin in the utility room. As a wastepaper basket in a high-traffic open office. The integrated adjustable bag holder secures standard 30- to 35-liter bags and does not require a special size. The carbonized bamboo lid opens with one hand, balances on the edge of the bin, and closes by itself as soon as you let go – even when tossing things in with both hands full.
Good to know: With the Reflect 6 L for organic waste at the workstation and the Reflect 16 L for separating paper and plastic, the 33-liter bin completes a full waste sorting system with three containers in the same design language.
A full-fledged furniture height for waste
At 52 cm high, the Reflect 33 L is deliberately positioned at the eye level of standard sideboards – the bin is intended to be furniture, not hidden away. This decision by Tools Design for Eva Solo is consistent: those who cook in an open-plan kitchen no longer have space for the classic under-cabinet bin. Eva Solo has worked with bamboo, stainless steel, and glass since 1925, and here it transfers this material language to the functional area that receives the least design attention in most kitchens. Carbonized bamboo ages more slowly than oiled wood and does not absorb odors – a crucial detail for trash cans.

How it all began: A passion for good food

You come back from holiday with a bottle of olive oil from Portugal in your suitcase, a jar of fruit spread from South Tyrol, perhaps a bar of chocolate from a small manufactory in France – and you ask yourself: Why can't I simply get this at home? We asked ourselves exactly the same question. Again and again.
We are Kerstin and Stephan Uhlenbusch from Nordhorn, a small town on the German-Dutch border in Lower Saxony. We have always loved good food. On our travels through Europe we made the most wonderful culinary discoveries: mountain apple juices from the South Tyrolean highlands, Breton churned butter, handmade pasta from Italy, French sea salt and much more. It was never the big luxury products that fascinated us, but honest, artisan food made by people who stand wholeheartedly behind what they make.
In 2002 we decided to turn this enthusiasm into our profession. We wanted to make good food available to as many people as possible – not only to those lucky enough to buy directly from the producers. That is how nur Gutes came about, first as a local delicatessen in Nordhorn and soon afterwards as one of the first gourmet online shops in Germany.
Our name is also our philosophy: nur Gutes means "only good things". Full stop.
Who we are: Delicatessen merchants, food lovers, industry insiders
What sets us apart from many other online shops is not only our range, but above all our expertise and our network. Kerstin was managing director of the association of leading delicatessen merchants in Germany – the trade association that brings together the country's best owner-run delicatessens. In this role she did not just follow the German delicatessen trade, she actively helped to shape it. With the deli Festival we also founded our own B2B trade fair for delicacies, which for years brought together producers, retailers and restaurateurs from all over Europe – a culinary salon of the highest order.
Through these many years of work at the heart of the German delicatessen trade, we have built a unique network – of producers, retailers, restaurateurs and food artisans from all over Europe.
What does that mean for you as a customer? Quite simply: we know our trade like few others. Over more than two decades we have built relationships with small manufactories and passionate producers – directly, personally, as equals. Chambers of commerce and economic development agencies from all over Europe regularly introduce us to new and exciting producers who want to bring their products to the German market. We ask a lot of questions before a product finds its way into our shop. How is it made? Where do the raw materials come from? What philosophy does the producer follow? How limited is its availability? We quickly notice whether we are hearing marketing phrases or whether a producer is delighted to explain their journey and why they do what they do the way they do it. This is exactly the enthusiasm we look for – and we find it again and again in the people behind our products.
Our quality criteria can be summed up like this:
Artisan production: We prefer products from small manufactories and family businesses that often have been making their culinary treasures by hand for generations. You can taste the careful processing and craftsmanship in every bite.
The best ingredients: For us, quality begins with the raw materials. Whether fruit, vegetables, milk, meat or grain – we make sure our producers rely on first-class ingredients that are as natural as possible.
Origin and regional identity: We value products with a clear regional identity. A South Tyrolean mountain apple juice made only from slowly ripened, old apple varieties. A Portuguese olive oil from trees that have shaped the landscape for centuries. These stories of origin make delicacies what they are.
A personal relationship with the producer: Wherever possible, we buy directly from the producer. We have known many of our suppliers personally for years, some for more than two decades. We visit them, taste together and exchange ideas. This closeness matters to us because it ensures transparency and trust.
And of course: taste. At the end of the day, it has to taste good. We try all products ourselves – not just with a spoon when they are new, but again and again while cooking, at the table, on the plate. Only what convinces us, what we can call "nur Gutes", makes it into our shop. Our quality begins where the supermarket ends.
Producers, packaging, food: What we pay attention to
Regional origin, small businesses and a direct line to the producers have shaped what we put into our range since 2002.
Behind this is respect: for the raw materials, for the people who produce our food, and for the animals. This respect shows in many small and large decisions we make every day.
When choosing our products we look closely at how our producers work. Many of our producers are certified organic. With the others, we ask directly how they grow and produce.
For shipping and packaging we use paper instead of plastic wherever possible. We ship your order safely and unbroken – a real challenge with a range that stretches from wine bottles and bags of crisps to jam jars and cookware. We cushion with packing paper: more than 9 out of 10 parcels leave our warehouse without any plastic padding.
Against food waste we take active steps. Products with a short best-before date or slightly damaged packaging are offered at reduced prices in our sale section.
