Savory flavor from the Styrian Volcano Land
Pesto and chutney from Fink's Delikatessen are savory companions from Styria – pumpkin and tomato with black walnut as pesto, apricot and redcurrant as finely seasoned chutney. Spicy, fruity-tangy, and cooked by hand.
Pesto and chutney from Fink's Delikatessen are savory specialties from the Styrian Volcano Land that Bettina Fink-Haberl preserves using local fruits and vegetables. Four jars for the savory side of your plate – two pestos for pasta and bread, two chutneys for cheese, seared meats, and snacks.
Two pestos, two chutneys
Four ways to add a touch of Styrian flavor to a dish are waiting here.
The Pumpkin Pesto brings together the pulp, seeds, and oil of the Styrian pumpkin, resulting in a nutty and rich flavor. Alongside it is the Tomato Black Walnut Pesto – tomato meets the rare black walnut, a pairing you will rarely find elsewhere.
Things get fruity and tangy with the chutneys: The Apricot Chutney balances sweetness with heat, while the Redcurrant Onion Chutney relies on redcurrants and onions. Both pair wonderfully with bold cheeses.
Recipes with Styrian roots
Behind these jars is a chef who likes to forge her own path.
Bettina Fink-Haberl develops recipes that are rarely found on store shelves – her tomato and black walnut pesto is the perfect example. Most of the vegetables come from the Volcano Land; much is cleaned and sliced by hand, and the preserves are made without artificial additives. Three things matter: quality ingredients, original ideas, and craftsmanship.
This is how savory specialties are created that actually taste like something – like pumpkin, like tomato, like apricot, and not like mass-produced spice paste.
Chutney with bold cheese
On bread, in pasta, on a cheese platter – these jars are versatile.
Stir the pumpkin pesto into warm ribbons of pasta or spread it on toasted bread. For us, the chutneys belong on a snack board: a piece of mountain cheese, a spoonful of apricot chutney, and your little afternoon peak of indulgence is ready. The tomato pesto also works well on an antipasti platter.
