Questions about Angeli Extra Virgin Olive Oil?

We are happy to help you with Bartolini.

Angeli Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a retro tin

Emilio Bartolini’s Angeli extra virgin olive oil is a premium olive oil from Umbria, packaged in a light-protecting retro tin. Fruity and medium-bodied, with notes of Mediterranean herbs. A beautiful oil for the kitchen and a popular gift choice.

The extra virgin olive oil Angeli is a premium olive oil from Arrone in Umbria, bottled in an attractive retro-designed metal tin. A 100 percent Italian olive oil by Mastro Oleario Emilio Bartolini, versatile in the kitchen and an eye-catcher on the table thanks to the tin. That is exactly what makes it a wonderful culinary gift.

Golden green, fruity, with a herbal note

The Angeli shines in a golden-green hue and smells of fresh olives, a hint of grass, and Mediterranean herbs. It is an oil that tastes of sun, rolling hills, and summer.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied and aromatic, featuring the slight bitterness and fine piquancy of a vibrant oil. Like the Classico, it is made from the three Umbrian olive varieties Moraiolo, Leccino, and Frantoio, yet it enjoys showcasing its herbaceous, spicy side. Together, they create a well-rounded, harmonious oil with a long finish.

Umbria is the green heart of Italy, a hilly landscape between Florence and Rome where even the Etruscans pressed olives. From cool nights and long sunny days comes an oil that is at once fruity, spicy, and refreshingly herbal.

For antipasti, fish, and bread

Angeli pairs well with many Italian dishes and loves Mediterranean accompaniments: antipasti, grilled bell peppers, Mediterranean fish, chicken, or roasted pork. It is also wonderful for dipping with bread. It truly comes into its own over a lukewarm bean salad, where the herbal notes elevate the mild legumes.

Drizzle it with a little Aceto Balsamico as a refined salad dressing, or use it pure over grilled vegetables. You should not heat extra virgin olive oil to high temperatures; it is best used as a finishing oil. If you prefer the same oil in a simple glass bottle, you can find it as Bartolini Classico.

The tin protects against light

The 500ml retro tin is more than just decoration, as metal blocks out light, and light—along with heat—is the greatest enemy of a good oil. This keeps the extra virgin olive oil fresh for longer than it would stay in a clear bottle. The nostalgic label featuring an angel makes the tin a beautiful object that you will want to keep even after the last drop, perhaps for pens, wooden spoons, or dried herbs.

The Angeli is pressed at the Bartolini oil mill in Arrone, which has been operating for six generations since 1850. The olives are harvested by hand in November and December and milled no later than 12 hours later at a controlled cold temperature of 24 to 27 degrees Celsius. "An oil is only as good as the fruit it comes from," says Mastro Oleario Emilio Bartolini, who personally oversees every step. You can see more from the company in the Bartolini collection.

Visible in the kitchen, but not by the stove

The tin is meant to be displayed in the kitchen, but keep it away from the hot stove, as oil dislikes heat just as much as light. As a gift, the Angeli makes a lovely impression when paired with a good bread and an Aceto Balsamico—a small gesture that any host will appreciate. An oil that you will love to give and love even more to keep.
