The hand-poured candle burns for approximately 32 hours; however, it should not be burned for more than 4 hours at a time. It is important to trim the wick to prevent the candle from smoking. The production of natural soaps has a 300-year-old tradition in Portugal – Castelbel's own story began in 1999 when Aquiles Barros, a respected professor of chemistry and former employee of the Ach Brito soap factory, decided to start something new of his own.
