Questions about Tartufi Advent Calendar?

We are happy to help you with La Perla di Torino.

An Advent calendar with truffles, pastries, and coffee beans

The Tartufi Advent calendar from La Perla di Torino brings together twelve chocolate truffles, Baci di Dama, and chocolate-covered coffee beans behind 24 little doors. Everything is assembled by hand in Turin, gluten-free, with a gift ribbon on the box.

The Tartufi Advent calendar is a chocolate Advent calendar from La Perla di Torino in Turin that sweetly bridges the wait until Christmas. Behind the 24 doors are twelve of the manufacturer's most popular tartufi, accompanied by fine Baci di Dama pastries and chocolate-covered coffee beans. Gluten-free, assembled by hand, and tied with a ribbon.

Truffles, pastries, and coffee beans in rotation

Half of the doors belong to the tartufi, the rest to the pastries and coffee beans. This ensures no two days taste the same.

A tartufo is not a filled praline, but rather a dense mass of chocolate and nut paste, rolled into balls and coated in cocoa or powdered sugar. It melts slowly on the tongue, with no crunch, no snapping. The calendar features the house's most popular varieties.

Baci di Dama are the "lady's kisses" from Piedmont, two small hazelnut cookies held together by a dab of chocolate. The chocolate-covered coffee beans provide the only bitterness that this box has to offer. A crunchy day, a creamy day, a bold day.

Those who know the classics will recognize them just by their paper. Those who don't yet know them will have twenty-four opportunities to do so. The light Tartufo Bianco and the dark Tartufo Nero are also available individually, in case one of them becomes a favorite.

A calendar for big sweet tooths

The box measures 40.5 by 30.5 centimeters and is only 3.5 centimeters deep, and it comes with a gift ribbon. It is flat enough to hang on the wall or lean against a dresser. There is no need for extra gift wrapping.

One piece a day is meant to be nothing more than a coffee break. That is exactly what makes it so appealing: not a mountain of chocolate all at once, but a daily morsel that lingers long after. Try the first one with your afternoon espresso, the next with tea in the evening, and one after a walk with some mulled wine.

The entire Advent calendar is gluten-free, like almost everything from this manufacturer. Those who usually spend December reading through ingredient lists can simply open a door here. The calendar is just as suitable for children; you just have to clarify early on that one a day is enough.

What we like about this calendar is that it doesn't taste like a Christmas market, but like a patisserie. It is best given as a gift at the end of November so that nothing is missing on December 1st. You can find more treats for your Advent platter in our Pralines and Truffles section.

Turin craftsmanship from the Arzilli family

La Perla di Torino has been rolling its tartufi by hand since Sergio Arzilli founded the company in Turin in 1992. The Advent calendar is the latest idea from this house.

His parents' confectionery already existed in Turin in 1952, where Sergio grew up. A gluten intolerance later led him from the bakery to chocolate, which is naturally gluten-free. Today, his daughter Valentina helps run the business and brings the truffles to over 40 countries.

The hazelnuts used are Tonda Gentile Trilobata from the Langhe, which are roasted in Turin. The calendar is also assembled by hand, door by door. By the time the last door is opened on Christmas Eve, the apartment will have long smelled of pine needles and the box will be empty. Until then, there is a small reason to get up earlier every morning. You can find more from the manufacturer at La Perla di Torino.
