A.C. Perchs Thehandel is a tea institution in Copenhagen – and what an institution it is! The tea shop, founded in 1835 by Niels Brock Perch, along with its charming retail store, has been located at Kronprinsengade 5 for seven generations. The old shop looks almost exactly as it did when it was founded 188 years ago. Much of the interior, such as the counter and shelves, the golden leather wallpaper, as well as the brass tea caddies and the apothecary scale, date from that time, always well-maintained and restored, of course. Scandinavia's oldest tea shop offers a wide selection of green tea, white tea, and black tea, as well as oolong, flavored tea blends, organic teas, and chai tea of the highest quality. We carry popular blends such as White Temple Tea, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Afternoon Tea, and Sea Breeze, as well as Green Tea with Mint, Rhubarb, or Lemon & Ginger, and an Apple Tea. A.C. Perchs Thehandel – Royal Purveyor
In 2002, the Hincheldey Ravn family, who took over the tea business in 1894, had the great honor of being appointed Royal Purveyor by Queen Margrethe. For many decades, A.C. Perchs has supplied the royal household with the finest tea and specially blended mixtures that stand for the highest tea enjoyment. Annelise and Henning Hincheldey Ravn, who managed the tea business in the 6th generation, handed over the busy business life to their two children Stine Hincheldey Alwen and Christian Hincheldey, who now together preserve old trading virtues and good business ethics, and relaxed enjoy their retirement with a cup of tea and scones with clotted cream and lemon curd.
