Queens Blend by A.C. Perch's is a loose-leaf tea blend of black Ceylon, green Gunpowder, and bergamot, created in honor of Queen Margrethe. Not just a simple breakfast tea, but a full-bodied, harmonious classic from the house.

Queens Blend is a loose-leaf tea blend from the Danish tea house A.C. Perch's, composed of black Ceylon Orange Pekoe from Sri Lanka, green Gunpowder from China, and fine bergamot. It was developed in honor of Queen Margrethe, hence the name. A full-bodied, aromatic tea that starts the morning in style.

Black, green, and a hint of bergamot

Once steeped, Queens Blend glows golden-brown and has an aromatic scent of bergamot over a bold tea base. On the palate, it is full-bodied and harmonious, with a long, aromatic finish.

The black Ceylon Orange Pekoe provides a soft, rounded bouquet, the green Gunpowder adds strength and structure, and the bergamot adds a fine citrus note. Full-bodied, aromatic, and harmonious—that is how this royal blend tastes. Queens Blend likes the morning; it is strong enough to wake you up, yet fine enough to be enjoyed on its own. The interplay between black and green tea is rare, making it more exciting than a standard black breakfast tea. The Gunpowder provides a slightly tart, clear tone that beautifully balances the soft Ceylon base.

Loose-leaf, in a round tin

Use 100-degree (Celsius) water, about 10 grams per liter, and let it steep for 6 to 7 minutes. This allows Queens Blend to show its full depth, from the bold base to the fine bergamot.

When drunk pure, the bergamot comes through most clearly; a splash of milk makes it rounder in the morning. It shines at Sunday breakfast—whenever a bit of festivity is welcome in the cup, alongside fresh rolls, jam, and time for the newspaper. An original for the Queen

Queens Blend is an original from A.C. Perch's Thehandel in Copenhagen, the oldest tea shop in Scandinavia. Green Gunpowder was one of the first teas ever exported to Copenhagen; its tightly rolled, young leaves survived the long sea voyage particularly well and only open up in hot water.

The house was founded by Niels Brock Perch, who opened the small shop in April 1835 on Kronprinsensgade 5 and named it after his third eldest son, Axel Christian Perch. The house has been family-run for nearly 200 years, at times with three generations behind the counter, blending tea with the same knowledge that Niels cherished.

In 2002, Queen Margrethe II named the house a Purveyor to the Royal Danish Court, an honor that Queens Blend carries in its very name. Thus, two royal stories are combined in this tin: the blend in honor of the Queen and the recognition from the court years later. You can find more from Copenhagen in the A.C.
