Questions about Risotto with saffron threads?

We are happy to help you with Casale Paradiso.

Golden-yellow saffron risotto with real saffron threads

Risotto with saffron threads from Casale Paradiso is a gluten-free ready-made mix of Italian Carnaroli rice with real saffron threads. In about 16 minutes, you can create a golden-yellow saffron risotto, the Italian Risotto allo Zafferano. Not saffron powder, but whole threads.

Risotto with saffron threads allows you to prepare the classic saffron risotto, known in Italy as Risotto allo Zafferano, coloring your plate in a vibrant golden yellow. Casale Paradiso from the Abruzzo region uses Carnaroli rice (97 percent), onions, carrots, and real saffron threads for this. The mixture is gluten-free. You only need olive oil, broth, and a few minutes at the stove, and it will shine in your pot.

Golden yellow, mildly spicy, gently fragrant

As it cooks, the saffron dyes the rice a warm gold and releases its delicate, floral, and spicy aroma. Golden yellow, mild, and fragrant, the dish draws every eye as soon as the pan is brought to the table.

On the palate, the saffron risotto is mild and elegant; the Carnaroli remains al dente yet creamy, while the saffron unfolds its delicate, slightly tart, and honey-sweet notes. Onions and carrots provide a gentle sweetness in the background. It is not an overpowering spice, but a calm, golden seasoning that lets the rice speak for itself. Creamy, savory, and festive—that is how the saffron risotto arrives at the table, making an impression with little effort.

The classic companion to shrimp and fish

In Italy, saffron risotto is the classic accompaniment to fish and seafood, but it also cuts a fine figure as a solo primo piatto. It loves light, bright flavors by its side.

It is served as an appetizer topped with a few quick-seared shrimp or as a side dish for tender fish fillets. Classically, it becomes Risotto alla Milanese when served with a marrow bone, the perfect partner for ossobuco. Stir in some butter and Parmesan at the end to make it completely velvety and well-rounded. A chilled glass of white wine is all you need for a successful summer evening.

Without animal-based additions, it tastes great with high-quality olive oil and a squeeze of lemon. If you're in the mood for more of Italy, you can find further risotto and pasta specialties on our shelves.

Carnaroli from Abruzzo, since 1994

Behind the pouch is Casale Paradiso, a family business from Chieti Scalo in Abruzzo, founded in 1994 by Nicola Mammarella. Rice, saffron, and vegetables—this is how the golden risotto is created here, just as Nicola has prepared it from the very beginning.

The base is Carnaroli, the king of risotto rice varieties, whose grains absorb plenty of liquid while maintaining their shape during cooking. Casale Paradiso blends it with onions, carrots, and real saffron threads, packing 300 grams into each gluten-free bag, enough for 4 plates. This way, you can prepare the risotto with saffron threads without having to measure out the precious threads individually or soak them laboriously; the correct portion is already in the bag.

Preparation takes about 16 minutes: Sauté the mixture in olive oil, gradually add about 1 liter of hot broth, and stir until the rice is creamy and glows with a rich gold. Further specialties from Casale Paradiso are waiting for you. And if you prefer something fresh, light, and summery, try the lemon risotto from the same producer next. Buon appetito.

Casale Paradiso

Sorgsam zusammengestellt, aromatisch, unkompliziert.
