Ekelund Agnes Towel for Apple Season in Your Kitchen
The Ekelund Agnes towel is a dish towel made of organic cotton, 35 by 50 centimeters, woven at the Swedish manufactory Ekelund in Horred. Designed by Betty Svensson, it features the warm Agnes apple motif. This is no thin promotional towel, but a robust, slightly thicker cloth that works every day and hangs on the hook like a little piece of art.
The Ekelund Agnes Towel 35 x 50 cm brings red apples and warm summer colors into your kitchen and is woven at the Swedish manufactory Ekelund from 100 percent organic cotton. Betty Svensson designed the Agnes motif for Ekelund Linneväveri. A dish towel that turns drying plates and glasses into a little pleasure and adorns the kitchen when hanging on its hook.
Robust, slightly thicker, nice and soft to the touch
The Agnes dish towel feels robust, absorbent, and durable in your hands. It is a bit thicker than the usual thin promotional towels and absorbs water reliably. Dishes, cutlery, freshly cleaned vegetables: everything gets dry without the towel becoming immediately saturated. Organic cotton has a soft, slightly textured character that feels pleasant in the hand and around the rim of a glass.
The apples shine in apple red, sunflower yellow, and rich meadow green on a light background. As Betty Svensson explains, she draws the motifs for Ekelund by hand using watercolor and gouache before they are woven into the loom using the patented Rainbow method. As a result, the colors have a depth that printed towels lack – and the reverse side shows the apple motif in a different color combination that you will just as gladly hang on the hook.

Tone-on-tone or as a bright splash of color
Depending on your kitchen, you can use the apple as a calm splash of color in an otherwise neutral setting or combine it tone-on-tone with other reds and greens. Hang it on a hook by the window, where the morning light makes the colors glow once more. Like a small, quiet painting that happens to dry your dishes on the side.
The Agnes towel can be machine washed at 60 degrees and returns fresh to the hook—no gentle cycle required, no fading motif after the tenth wash. The matching Agnes Table Runner in 35 x 80 cm brings the same design language to the dining table, giving your kitchen and dining area a cohesive look. Weaving Artistry from Horred since 1692
Ekelund Linneväveri is Sweden's oldest documented textile manufactory, founded in 1692 in Horred, a small village between Gothenburg and the Swedish west coast. Eight generations of family management, more than 330 years of history, one single location. Spinning, dyeing, weaving, and finishing all happen under one roof. For their design language, the company has worked for years with Betty Svensson, who learned her craft at the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg.
What makes it special is the patented Rainbow method, in which eight colored threads are woven together so that the motif appears in different color combinations on the reverse side. A dish towel that brings you joy twice over. All fabrics consist of 100 percent organic cotton and organic linen and are certified according to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
