Kühling Gillot – Nierstein Riesling – [ORGANIC]
The Kühling Gillot Nierstein Riesling 2022 is an organic wine from the VDP.ERSTE LAGE Nierstein in Rheinhessen. The vines for the Nierstein Riesling from the Kühling Gillot winery grow on stony-porous clay slate soil. The Nierstein village wine has everything that Rheinhessen wines have long been famous for: ripe Riesling grapes, a powerful body, elegance, and complexity. The Rotliegend (red slate) of the Roter Hang (red slope) is exemplified in the Nierstein Riesling: ripe yellow fruit, high extract, concentrated minerality.
Kühling Gillot – Nierstein Riesling
Since 2006, this Riesling has once again borne the name of arguably the most famous wine village on the Rheinterrasse, in whose district Kühling Gillot owns a large part of its vineyards. Carolin and Hans Oliver Spanier believe that there is a "genius loci" of Nierstein that can express itself in the wines – what is now often called terroir. And their success proves them right.
The Nierstein Riesling reflects everything that Rheinhessen wines have long been so famous for: the extract of the Riesling grapes gives it body, the stony-porous clay slate soil opens up the wine and gives it tautness and finesse. The Nierstein Riesling is the gateway to the world of Kühling Gillot's terroir wines. Through a late and extremely meticulous selection in the vineyard, combined with ideally ripened grapes, the finest fruit aromas, a wonderful juiciness, extract, and enormous complexity are combined. A tribute to the Roter Hang in Nierstein.
