Rainforest Honey from La Compagnie du Miel is a unique honey from the tropical forests of Madagascar. It is a multi-flower honey, the result of a harmonious combination of several varieties that grow in the lush Madagascan forests of the eastern Manakara zone. Between harvests of monofloral honeys, bees collect a wide range of nectars and pollens during their foraging. Due to Madagascar's exceptional biodiversity, this results in a honey with a unique floral composition, with a new composition at each harvest.

The rainforest honey is creamy soft, fresh and slightly spicy. This honey from the tropical forest shows the caramel notes of eucalyptus, complemented by the rich aromas of niaouli honey. Notes of Mokorana honey are also present, and Mimosa Pudica contributes to a well-balanced gourmet honey. It is an ideal accompaniment for breakfast or afternoon tea and will deliciously spice up sandwiches and pancakes.

Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world, one and a half times the size of Germany. It is located in the Indian Ocean off the east coast of Africa. Its great treasure is the vast area of tropical rainforests. Ancient forests that are subject to increasing deforestation, even though logging is prohibited. To protect the more than 200,000 plant and animal species, 95 percent of which are endemic, UNESCO declared the Masoala National Park a World Heritage site in 2007. Its lush forests allow bees to visit various and often unknown flowers, pollinate them, and collect nectar there. La Compagnie du Miel rainforest honey is harvested between the harvests of monofloral honeys. The honey from Madagascar has a creamy texture; this is a naturally occurring process. If the ratio of fructose to glucose is above 1.3, the honey crystallizes slowly; if it is below 1.1, it crystallizes quickly.
