Skin Gin Tea Kiss Edition is the gin from Skin Gin in the Altes Land region that combines the brand's mild mint note with the aromas of exotic fruit teas. It contains 11 botanicals and is bottled at 42 percent in a square 500-milliliter bottle. Of all the editions, this one is the most playful.

Hibiscus, Apple, Rosehip, and Peach

Four fruit distillates complement the familiar base of juniper, Moroccan mint, citrus peel, and coriander.

The hibiscus provides a delicate acidity, the peach rounds it out, and the rosehip keeps the profile tart enough to prevent the gin from becoming like syrup. None of this comes from artificial flavoring; everything is obtained via distillation. If you know fruit tea and enjoy gin, you will find both in one bottle here. "We are playing with the theme of 'skin'," says Martin Birk Jensen about his editions, and with the Tea Kiss, he is, for once, also playing with the contents.

With an Apple Slice and a Sprig of Mint in the Glass

Pour 4 centiliters over large ice cubes and top with 0.2 liters of tonic water, and the fruit notes will come to the fore.

Add a fresh apple slice and a sprig of mint, as the distillery itself recommends serving it. The drink does not become sweet, but rather bright and juicy, because the bitter compounds in the tonic work against the fruit. It also works well as an aperitif before a meal, where a juniper-heavy gin might be too overpowering. In the summer, it brings a garden full of fruit into the glass, and in the winter, the rosehip warms you from within. If you are mixing for a group, one bottle will yield around twelve drinks.

A Porthole in a Pearlescent Skin

Instead of a leather look, this edition features a finely textured pearlescent skin, and the embossing shines in gold rather than copper.

On the front, a round porthole offers a view of the bottle, topped by an embossed hibiscus flower in gold. These windows are a hallmark of the brand and appear in every special edition. On the narrow side, pennants feature the puns TEAlicious, ExtraorTEAnary, and TEAsing. Playful, festive, unusual, yet instantly recognizable as Skin Gin. On a set table, the gold attracts attention faster than any of the brand's other skins.

Eleven Distillates from the Altes Land

Each of the 11 botanicals is added individually to the gin basket of an old copper still operated by master distiller Arndt Wessel in the Altes Land.

This allows the essential oils to be released almost completely before the distillates are married and diluted to 42 percent. Subsequently, every bottle is wrapped by hand at a family-run distillery in Bavaria. This effort explains why no two skins are applied exactly the same way.
