Discover Alpe Pragas Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread
Alpe Pragas Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread is made from sun-ripened, juicy Senga Sengana strawberries from certified organic cultivation. Stefan Gruber cultivates these mid-early ripening, dark red berries himself in his fields at an altitude of 1250m. In the alpine mountain climate of the Dolomites, the fruits ripen more slowly, giving them more time to develop their distinct aroma. Great importance is placed on a natural approach to fruit cultivation: the seedlings are planted by hand, the fields are weeded several times until harvest, and irrigated with river and spring water from the Dolomites. Sweetened only with agave syrup, the organic strawberries are gently cooked with a little lemon juice and apple pectin to create a fruit spread with a 65% fruit content.
Alpe Pragas makes no compromises with its organic fruit spreads, consciously avoiding artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. The Organic Strawberry Fruit Spread is vegan, gluten-free, and, of course, organically certified.
65% Fruit Content – No Added Sugar
The sap, already harvested by the Aztecs, is experiencing a renaissance today as people become more conscious of their diet and sugar consumption. Vegans, who do not want to use honey as a sugar alternative, have certainly contributed to the fact that agave syrup, originating from Mexico, has arrived in Europe as a plant-based alternative to honey.
Similar to maple syrup, the agave, a fleshy plant resembling cacti but botanically belonging to the asparagus family, is cut, and the emerging sap is collected. Heating produces the viscous, sugar-rich agave syrup. Since it has a higher sweetening power than white industrial sugar and fewer calories, 100g of sugar can be replaced by 75g of agave syrup. Due to its almost clear color and relatively neutral taste, it hardly alters the Alpe Pragas nectar. The agave syrup used by Alpe Pragas is a natural product from organic farming.
Jam – Marmalade – Fruit Spread
According to the European Jam Directive of 2003, marmalade, jam, and fruit spread differ as follows: for marmalade, the fruit content must necessarily consist of citrus fruits (including peel, juice, puree) and be at least 20%. Jam can be made from stone fruits, berries, or other fruits (also from concentrate or puree); the fruit content should be at least 35% (depending on the fruit type), while for 'Extra' jam, a fruit content of at least 45% is specified. The fruit content of Alpe Pragas' organic fruit spreads is significantly higher at 65%. Quality you can taste.
