The Williams pear brandy starts things off, clear in the glass and with the full aroma of ripe pears. Beside it stands the Slyrs Classic in a brilliant golden yellow, malty and mild from the cask. Next is the Rumult with its warm tone, sweet and fruity from the sugarcane. And finally, the Josef Gin, crystal clear, with bold juniper and alpine herbs.

Four spirits, four raw materials, four completely different characters, and all four come from the same distillery in Upper Bavaria. That is, essentially, the entire concept behind this box.

Four brands from four copper stills

The remarkable thing about this box is that everything inside comes from the same house, even though it contains four completely different types of spirits.

The Slyrs Classic matures for three years in new American white oak barriques, is made from Bavarian barley and alpine spring water, and is neither colored nor chill-filtered. The rum is produced from Mauritian sugarcane syrup using the pot-still method and then matures in bourbon, cognac, Madeira, and sherry casks.

For the gin, the juniper is macerated for up to three weeks in potato-based alcohol before being distilled for eight hours. And the pear brandy is gently filtered before bottling, ensuring the fruit's bouquet remains unadulterated.

Getting four such diverse spirits from one house is the true appeal of this box. A distillery that masters pear, barley, sugarcane, and juniper with equal skill must truly understand its craft from the ground up. In that sense, it's four champions in one box.
