Die Honigwanderer – Summer Honey – 250g

Simon & Stefanie's Summer Honey is collected by Die Honigwanderer bees in June and July on the extensive ridge of the Welzheimer Forest. The beehives are located precisely at these coordinates: N49° 28' 6.575" E11° 28' 58.148". While fruit trees blossom in spring, offering insects, butterflies, bumblebees, wild bees, and, of course, honeybees a habitat of great biodiversity, various summer bloomers like clover, chamomile, meadow sage, yarrow, and chicory bloom in summer.

It is this nectar that Die Honigwanderer bees collect for the Summer Honey. It is wonderfully creamy and a little more robust than the spring blossom honey, with a slightly malty taste and notes of blackberries, raspberries, and fresh herbs.

If the consistency of honey (whether it's more liquid or creamy) plays a role in your purchasing decision, we'd like to provide you with the following information: Even if the product photo shows honey with a liquid consistency, honey can crystallize at any time. This is a sign of quality in honey, as it indicates that it is untreated, meaning it has not been heat-treated, and has a purely natural composition. Honey with a high glucose content tends to crystallize more readily than honey with a high fructose content. Therefore, the crystallization of honey is not a reason for complaint, but rather depends on the natural composition of the sugars. To reliquify the honey, place the closed jar in a pot of water at approximately 40 degrees Celsius for 5-10 minutes, then stir the honey until the sugar crystals have dissolved. This way, you can use liquid honey again.

Summer Honey – Best Organic Product in Bavaria

In 2018, the Summer Honey was among the Best Organic Products in Bavaria, and Die Honigwanderer were awarded a silver medal for it. "Bavaria's best organic products" are created where Bavarian organic farms process the best Bavarian organic ingredients. Two-thirds of the organic raw materials must come from Bavaria, and the product must be produced in Bavaria. In addition to taste and packaging, the jury also evaluates the ecological, social, and local commitment of the applicants. The competition by LVÖ Bayern has been held annually since 2012.
