Ferdinand's Rosé Vermouth – Fruity Vermouth from the Saar

Ferdinand's Rosé Vermouth is a German vermouth produced by hand in small batches. Its unmistakable, bitter character comes not only from the eponymous wormwood, but also from lovage and wild garlic. Its summery color is not due to the Saar Riesling from the Forstmeister Geltz Zilliken winery, but primarily to local rhubarb, red vineyard peach, and large-fruited cranberry. Elderflower, grape and passionflower, as well as bitter orange peel contribute to its fragrance.

The royal Prussian forester Ferdinand Geltz is not only the namesake of the Riesling for this Rosé Vermouth, but also the historic co-founder of the VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. Selectively hand-picked Riesling grapes from the Zilliken winery from the steep slate slopes of the great Saarburger Rausch vineyard make Ferdinand's Rosé Vermouth a unique result. The craftsmanship of Master Distiller Andreas Vallendar, whose Avards distillery has also been based in the Saar region for generations, guarantees a high-quality, aromatic, yet mild vermouth that stands for pure drinking pleasure.

The makers of Ferdinand's Gin include not only Dorothee Zilliken, winemaker of the VDP Winery Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken, and Master Distiller Andreas Vallendar, but above all their friends, the brothers Denis Reinhardt and Erik Wimmers, who had the idea for this great German gin.
