Ferdinand's Saar Quince - fine quince gin

What makes the quince gin Ferdinand's Saar Quince special, in addition to the gin based on an infusion of Riesling Kabinett from the Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken winery, are the freshly harvested Muskateller quinces, a rare pear quince variety, from their own cultivation. Thus, Ferdinand's Saar Quince, quince gin, is a regional homage to British sloe gin. The distinctly noticeable juniper note is accompanied here by a juicy, not too sweet fruitiness. Therefore, Saar Quince is not a gin in the true sense, but a gin liqueur.

Saar Quince - Juniper meets Fruit

The royal Prussian forester Ferdinand Geltz is not only the namesake of the Riesling-infused quince gin, but also the historically significant co-founder of the VDP Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. Selectively hand-picked Riesling grapes from the Zilliken winery from slate steep slopes of the great Saarburger Rausch site make Ferdinand's Saar Quince a unique result. The craftsmanship of Master Distiller Andreas Vallendar guarantees a high-quality, aromatic, but mild quince gin liqueur, which stands for the highest drinking pleasure.

The basis of the complex aroma of Ferdinand's Saar Quince is its own gin with hand-picked botanicals, some of which grow directly behind the Avadis distillery of the Vallander family. Botanicals such as red vineyard peach, quince, Rubinette and sloe, herbs such as apple mint, lemon thyme, chamomile, lemon verbena and fennel, spices such as coriander, cardamom, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and of course juniper, as well as blossoms such as hops, elderflower, hibiscus, almond, jasmine and lavender as well as ginger, bergamot, sandalwood and licorice.

The creators of Ferdinand's Gin include not only Dorothee Zilliken, winemaker of the VDP winery Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken, and Master Distiller Andreas Vallander, but above all their friends, the brothers Denis Reinhardt and Erik Wimmers, who had the idea for this great German gin. With their shared passion for high-quality spirits, the four have created a unique, handmade product that is an aromatic reflection of their home region.
