The Journey of Sauvignon Blanc: From Harvest to Bottle

This Sauvignon Blanc is the result of its Kofl location in Penon, careful harvesting, and masterful winemaking. At Kellerei Kurtatsch, particular emphasis is placed on environmentally friendly winemaking that preserves the authentic taste of the terroir. The Sauvignon Blanc vines for this white wine from the Terroir line grow on sand and gravel soils, rich in dolomite and quartz, on steep slopes between 450-600 m above sea level. The grapes from small, yield-reduced vineyards (50hl/ha) are hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and quickly transported in small boxes to the newly built, impressive winery in Kurtatsch. There, according to the specifications of cellar master Erwin Carli, cold maceration takes place for 3 hours in the press. After temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the subsequent aging on fine lees took place in large oak barrels for 12 months.
