From Harvest to Bottle

This South Tyrolean red wine is the result of careful harvesting and masterful winemaking. At Kellerei Kurtatsch, particular importance is placed on environmentally friendly wine production that preserves the authentic taste of the terroir. The Cabernet and Merlot vines for this red wine from the Terroir line grow on red sandy-loamy soils with dolomite, clay minerals, and oxides in hilly locations between 220-250m above sea level. The grapes from small parcels with reduced yields (50hl/ha) are hand-picked at optimal ripeness and quickly brought in small boxes to the newly built, impressive winery in Kurtatsch. There, they are destemmed according to the specifications of winemaker Erwin Carli and gently pressed after temperature-controlled mash fermentation in rotary tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrique barrels and then in large wooden barrels.
