The history of the Le Jacquard Francais company dates back to 1861 when Benjamin Baer opened a fabric trade in Gérardmer in the French Vosges mountains. In 1928, the successors, the Nathan Lévy weaving mill, expanded the business to include a bleachery, as white linen was in high demand at the time. In 1968, the company was acquired by the ELIS group, which purchased more than 50 looms for weaving Jacquard fabrics and created the Le Jacquard Francias brand. As the quintessence of creative and technical know-how, the tea towels are woven with the utmost care in the textile factory in the Vosges and then sewn there.
