The history of the company Le Jacquard Francais dates back to 1861, when Benjamin Baer opened a fabric shop in Gérardmer in the French Vosges mountains. In 1928, his successors, the Nathan Lévy weaving mill, expanded the business to include a bleachery, as white linen was extremely popular at the time. In 1968, the company was taken over by the ELIS Group, which acquired more than 50 looms for weaving Jacquard fabrics and launched the Le Jacquard Francais brand. As the quintessence of creative and technical expertise, the tea towels are woven with the greatest care in the textile factory in the Vosges and then sewn there.
