The history of Le Jacquard Francais goes back to 1861, when Benjamin Baer opened a textile trade in Gérardmer in the French Vosges. In 1928, the successors, the Nathan Lévy weaving mill, expanded the trade to include a bleaching plant, as white linen was in high demand at the time. In 1968, the company was acquired by the ELIS Group, which purchased more than 50 looms for weaving jacquard fabrics and launched the Le Jacquard Francais brand. As the quintessence of creative and technical know-how, the tea towels are woven with the greatest care in the textile factory in the Vosges and then sewn there.
