The Art of Weaving à la Française – Tradition since 1861

The history of the company Le Jacquard Francais dates back to 1861, when Benjamin Baer opened a fabric shop in Gérardmer in the French Vosges mountains. In 1928, his successors, the Nathan Lévy weaving mill, expanded the business to include a bleachery, as white linens were in extremely high demand at the time. In 1968, the company was acquired by the ELIS Group, which purchased more than 50 looms for weaving jacquard fabrics and launched the Le Jacquard Francais brand. As the quintessence of creative and technical know-how, the linens are woven with the utmost care in the textile factory in the Vosges and subsequently sewn there.

The linen tablecloths from Le Jacquard Francais bear the "Masters of Linen" label. This label distinguishes products that are 100% manufactured in Europe, from the harvest and the fiber to the finished fabric. For this reason, they work with Terre de Lin, a cooperative of flax growers who together preserve their expertise and share and develop skills in production and social commitment.
