Glass pourer from pHenomenal Drinks with natural cork for syrup

The glass pourer from pHenomenal Drinks is a glass spout with a natural cork that measures exactly 2 cl of syrup when the bottle is tilted. No measuring cup to wash afterwards, just a cap that simply stays on the bottle.

Glass pourer is the cocktail accessory from the Hamburg-based manufacturer pHenomenal Drinks and sits on the narrow 250 ml syrup bottles. The small glass bulb at the top fills when tilted and, as you continue to turn it, releases exactly the amount needed for a long drink. It is delivered in a custom-made box.

A glass bulb and a cork made of bark

The component consists of two things, both of which are self-explanatory at first glance.

At the bottom is a natural cork that tightly seals the opened bottle; at the top is a glass bulb acting as a measuring chamber. Between them lies the entire mechanism: tilting fills it, tilting further empties it. Anyone who has ever measured syrup with a tablespoon will immediately understand the difference.

The reason it is a cork rather than a screw cap is practical. Cork comes from the bark of the cork oak, remains elastic for years, and does not absorb foreign odors, so the syrup in the fridge won't taste like onions. Simple, airtight, and practical.

Tipped with a flick of the wrist, rinsed under the tap

Operation is a two-step movement for which you need neither a second hand nor another vessel.

Tilt the bottle until the glass bulb is completely full, then rotate it to the horizontal position so that the syrup flows into the glass. To clean it, simply hold the pourer briefly under the running tap and rinse it out – it is best to point the open end away from you.

Because the cork seals tightly, the pourer can simply remain on the bottle after mixing and go back into the fridge with it. It performs the same service on other narrow-necked bottles, such as syrups from other manufacturers in our syrup range.

Found rather than invented, in its own box

“In the search for a clever and uncomplicated way,” says Hendrik about the find, he encountered this pourer – so he did not develop it himself, but selected it.

He found a piece of glass that looks like it came from a chemistry lab, and that is exactly its charm. On the counter, it looks like a lab instrument; in use, it is simpler than any measuring cup. To ensure it arrives safely, it comes in a sturdy, custom-made box.

A side effect only becomes apparent after a few weeks: because the pourer stays on the bottle, measuring is never an obstacle. There are no tools to look for and nothing extra to wash up, and that is exactly where mixing your own drinks usually fails.

Together with a bottle of organic syrup with cinchona bark and the matching Erlenmeyer flask made of lab glass, it makes a great little gift for people who enjoy mixing their own drinks at home. Three parts, one box, done.

pHenomenal Drinks
