Questions about Grapefruit juice?

We are happy to help you with Alain Milliat.

Bittersweet Grapefruit Juice from Morocco

Alain Milliat’s grapefruit juice is a French grapefruit juice made from 100% Moroccan pomelos. Bittersweet, fresh, and fruity, with a fine, invigorating tartness. Served neat, it’s a morning wake-up call and a lively, elegant apéritif.

Grapefruit juice for those who appreciate a tart profile: Alain Milliat’s grapefruit juice is crafted from Moroccan pomelos—known as pamplemousse in French and familiar to us as pink grapefruit. With 100% fruit content, it is bittersweet, fresh, and full of invigorating acidity; a spirited juice with character and a clear edge.

Bittersweet, fresh, with a fine tartness

As soon as you pour it, the entire glass fills with the fresh, tart, and inviting aroma of ripe, juicy grapefruit.

The pale pink to orange-colored juice has a smooth texture and a vibrant flavor profile balanced between sweetness and fine bitterness. Fruity, fresh, and lively on the tongue, it possesses that invigorating acidity that instantly awakens the palate. You can taste a fruit here that refuses to compromise.

That is what makes this grapefruit juice so distinctive: it doesn't pander, it demands a little something from the drinker, and that is exactly what its fans love about it. The fine bitterness is not a flaw, but a hallmark—a juice for those who prefer tartness over sugary blandness.

It is not without reason that grapefruit belongs at the breakfast table just as much as a strong coffee: fruity, fresh, and sunny, it stirs the spirits and clears the head. Anyone looking to start the day with something authentic has come to the right place, far removed from the insipid aftertaste of many store-bought juice drinks.

For breakfast and the apéritif

This grapefruit juice is a versatile companion, from morning until night.

Served neat and well-chilled, it is a magnificent wake-up call at the breakfast table—fresher and more sophisticated than any sweet juice. As an apéritif, a splash of Prosecco or white rum turns it into an elegant drink with a refined tartness that brings a touch of sophistication to any gathering. A splash over fish ceviche or in a summer dressing instantly adds an invigorating citrus note.

The fine balance of the grapefruit is best showcased in a thin-walled glass at 8 to 12 degrees Celsius. If you also enjoy tart flavors, take a look at our pomegranate juice, or explore our nectars for something velvety and sweeter.

Grapefruits from Morocco

The grapefruits for this juice are grown in Morocco, where the warm climate imparts their juicy richness and aroma.

They are harvested fully ripe, because as Alain emphasizes, the flavor is developed on the tree. Only a ripe fruit provides the perfect balance of sweetness and that typical, noble bitterness. The juice is pressed and bottled in the Rhône Valley south of Lyon—just as every juice from the house has been since 1997—gently and without haste, to ensure the aroma is preserved.

Alain Milliat, himself a fruit farmer from Orliénas, took over the family farm in 1983 and launched his project in 1997 to elevate juices to the level of fine wines. His creations quickly won over the sommeliers of gourmet restaurants. You can find more about this in our portrait of Alain Milliat; additional varieties ranging from sweet to tart can be found right next door in our juices collection, from mild apple to bold tomato. Respect.
