Questions about Clementine juice?

We are happy to help you with Alain Milliat.

Clementine juice from Corsican fruit

Alain Milliat's clementine juice is a French direct juice made from 100% Clémentine de Corse fruit from the island of Corsica. Sweet and tart, elegant, with a subtle bitterness. Not a juice from concentrate, but a protected fruit in a glass.

Clementine juice like this is a rarity: Alain Milliat's clementine juice is made from the Clémentine de Corse, the iconic citrus fruit of Corsica, which has held a protected geographical indication since 2007. With 100% fruit content, it tastes sweet-tart and well-rounded, with those delicate notes that only Corsican fruit possesses.

Sweet-tart, vibrant, subtly bitter

The glass gives off an intense aroma of juicy, ripe clementines the moment you pour it.

The bright orange juice has a silky texture and a vibrant citrus aroma. It sits on the tongue sweet, fresh, and slightly bitter—a light bitterness that makes it so surprising and sophisticated. The clementine is naturally a hybrid of mandarin and orange, and that dual nature is exactly what you taste.

That is what makes this clementine juice so unique: it is sweeter than orange juice and rounder than mandarin, a citrus juice with a personality of its own. A glass of the south, especially on gray days.

Precisely because freshly squeezed clementines quickly lose their aroma, such a juice in a glass is a little luxury: the best of the Corsican harvest, preserved without the fruit losing its character. Alain Milliat has captured that fresh scent inside.

A delight with Prosecco as an aperitif

This clementine juice is a convivial companion, whether enjoyed neat or with a splash of sparkle.

It is wonderfully refreshing with a few ice cubes, and when topped with Prosecco, it becomes a popular aperitif. It is also a delight in the kitchen, for example as a fine marinade for ceviche or as a citrus note in a dressing. When drunk neat and well-chilled, its subtle bitterness comes to the fore.

A thin-walled white wine glass and a temperature of 8 to 12 degrees bring out the best in this Corsican fruit. If you prefer something more classic, take a look at the mandarin juice, or for something velvety, explore the nectars.

Clémentine de Corse, protected since 2007

The first clementines were planted on Corsica in 1925; today, around 159 fruit growers cultivate the early-ripening, seedless fruit in the island's mild climate.

Since 2007, the Clémentine de Corse has carried the PGI seal, the protected geographical indication: the fruit must grow on the island, is picked by hand along with its leaves between November and early January, and is packed on Corsica without further treatment. This is the only way it earns its seal, because as Alain emphasizes, the flavor develops on the tree.

It all started with a single fruit grower on the east coast whose trees launched an entire island tradition. Today, behind every bottle lies the work of many small family farms that harvest their fruit by hand. You can taste that, and it is one more reason to love this juice.

Alain Milliat, himself a fruit grower from Orliénas near Lyon, took over the family farm in 1983 and launched his project in 1997 to elevate juices to the level of fine wines. His creations quickly won over the sommeliers of gourmet restaurants. Find out more in the portrait of Alain Milliat, and you can find more varieties in our juices section. Bravo.
